In this episode of the How of Carwashing, David Begin shares some of the lessons learned and taught by his Coach Dan Sullivan. As you start the new year with lofty goals, its important that you review your past performance to see how far you have come. Progress can only be seen if you look backward and not forward. Only looking forward at your future goals and the ideal situation will ultimately bring frustration and unhappiness, since your goals keep moving. David talks abut Dan Sullivan’s concept of the moving “Horizon” and the “Ideal” and how the concepts don’t really exist. Measuring your progress backwards is motivating and energizing and will propel you forward to achieve more in the future.
David has over 30 years of broad business experience, including successful careers in the information technology industry, sales, sales training, public sector, and business ownership. He is the co-founder of Levante Business Group (supporting entrepreneurs and small business owners), the managing partner of Wild Blue Car Wash (a highly successful exterior express car wash with three locations in Colorado), Mojave Systems (offering Task & Maintenance Management software solutions for the car wash industry), and co-owner of iTopIt (a self-serve frozen desserts restaurant in Colorado Springs).
David currently resides in Colorado Springs, Colorado with his wife Brenda. They have two sons.
