Frank Kinder is a senior conservation specialist for Colorado Springs Utilities Water Services Division in Colorado Springs, CO. His responsibilities include commercial and residential indoor and outdoor water conservation programs and rebates, outreach and education, and serving on boards and committees. He has a Master’s degree in Applied Geography emphasizing Sustainable Development and an undergraduate in Finance and IT from the University of Colorado.
Frank is currently Board Co-Chair of Colorado WaterWise, a statewide non-profit organization of water-conservation professionals, and serves on the Colorado Springs Urban Intervention, USGBC Colorado Southern Branch Steering Committee, and others. He helped lead the first WaterSense labeled home in Colorado and his utility recently launched the first EPA WaterSense New Homes rebate in the nation.
His awards include Fort Carson Award for Sustainable Progress through partnerships in 2011, a 2012 Colorado Biz Magazine GenXYZ Top 25 Young Professional, and a 2013 Rising Star by Colorado Springs Business Journal. His work has helped Colorado Springs Utilities be recognized as a 2012 EPA WaterSense Promotional Partner of the Year, 2013 EPA WaterSense Award of Excellence for Strategic Collaboration, and 2014 Promotional Partner of the Year.
